We are honored to have you and your family, choose our office for your orthodontic needs.
You will find that our team is dedicated to providing excellence in care while making your experience as personable, comfortable and as unique as the smiles we see each day.
We offer complimentary exams to all of our new patients and begin a treatment plan, which is presented using the most advanced technology available. Our orthodontic records, which are necessary in diagnostics, and are required by the American Association of Orthodontics (AAO), can be completed the same day as the initial examination, thus accelerating the waiting period before treatment begins. We encourage an initial examination for children before or around age seven to screen for any growth or developmental abnormalities that can be corrected through preventative methods, also known as Phase 1 treatment. Many people will not need orthodontic guidance until they reach adolescence. In this case, the patient is seen on regular intervals to monitor growth patterns, which we call "observation visits". These visits are complimentary until a treatment plan is established and necessary to correct malocclusion.
Phase 2 treatment begins when the braces are bonded to the teeth using a special light-curing agent. A complete bonding procedure will take up to an hour and a half to allow time for questions and patient/ parent instructions. We also offer clear braces and Invisalign technology for a more aesthetically pleasing alternative to traditional braces. Responsible eating habits and excellent oral hygiene are imperative to maintaining your new appliances and obtaining that perfect smile. While treatment times will vary due to severity of the problem and patient compliance, the average case will last from 20-26 months.
Once the braces are removed, the teeth must be stabilized using retainers that are customized to the patients comfort and retention needs. Phase 3 treatment is your insurance to keeping the beautiful smile you've worked so hard for. Our orthodontic laboratories make a variety of retainers that range from an invisible Aligner-type, to a colorful palatal acrylic/wire, to permanent bonded retainers that are easy to keep up with. It is recommended that retainers be worn full-time for at least one year and then worn at night as prescribed. During this phase, some patients will need their third molars monitored closely, and possibly removed by an oral surgeon to prevent any relapse or future bite problems.
